Does your shower head perform the way it used to? If not, then you have to do some cleaning. Over
time mineral deposits or debris can build up causing the nozzles to squirt hot water in all directions. In
fact, the nozzles will clog up completely. Such a thing leaves you so irritated whenever you are using it.
The results will be the low flow of water and poor water pressure.
Here is the big question! How can you solve such a problems? Cleaning your showerhead is the answer.
It is simple than you may think. Let your equipment suit all your needs and not only for you but also for
your large family. As such, it will bring your shower head back to its peak performance. Here are the tips
on how to clean a shower head.

Rub the Nozzles

Most shower heads are designed in such a way they have flexible rubber nozzles. This gives you an
upper hand when cleaning your showerhead. You can dislodge debris buildup simply by massaging each
nozzle using your finger. You can also decide to use a toothbrush by scrubbing the nozzles gently.

Soak your shower head in Vinegar
You can use a couple of ways to perform this. Here are the common ones:
 Here, you are advised to fill the plastic bag with vinegar, then wrap it around your shower head
keenly. Using the rubber band, secure the plastic bag around. Other alternatives are a tape and
a twist tie beside rubber band. Relax and leave the bag around your shower head for some
hours. Now, remove the plastic bag slowly and turn on the water supply for some minutes to
clear the vinegar elements out of your showerhead. This will work to people who prefer leaving
their shower head attached to the wall pipe.
 Also, you can decide not to remove the head from a shower pipe. All you need to do is to
submerge your showerhead in a container containing a white vinegar. Wait for a little time to
ensure the soaking of your shower head in the vinegar. Eventually, re-attach your shower head
to the pipe and let the water flow freely for it to clear out this white vinegar.

Clean the filter screen
Finally, you need to clean the filter screen. For this one, shower head manual instruction needs to be re-
visited. However, if you did not keep the manual, no point to panic. The solution is to find the
instructions on a brand’s website. Using tweezers, remove the screen out of or from the pivot ball. After
this, run it (screen) under water for just a few minutes to clean or flush out any remaining buildup. Re-
install the screen and am sure your shower head will just look amazing.
